LIFE AS AN ARTIST
Anastasia Flores is a captivating performer who has won the hearts of audiences around the nation. She is a passionate practitioner of Ballet Folklorico and Modern/Contemporary dance — as a student, teacher, and choreographer of the arts. Her specialities extend well beyond just these two forms of dance. She was a part of the School for Classical and Contemporary Dance at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance. She has choreographed for Freestyle Dance Productions, Nolan Catholic High School, Amor a Nuestra Cultura Ballet Folklorico, and Almas Unidas Dance Company, where she currently serves as director and choreographer. She has created numerous works for each organization including works taken to national dance competitions including Crowd Pleasers Dance Competition, MA Dance Camp & Competition, Bailes de mi Tierra Folklorico Competition, Festivales de Mexico National Folklorico/Contemporary Dance Competition and more. While studying performance art, Anastasia has worked tirelessly to develop a unique style and technique, as well as to collaborate on various projects with artists from around the country. She has been fortunate to work with innovative performers in the field and is constantly on the search for new and exciting opportunities. With her extended dance experience and Hispanic background, she is interested in created a fuse between different dance forms; she is working to emphasize and bring awareness to the meaning of “contemporary dance.”
